The MiCare portal provides tools and information enabling you to manage a copy of your own medical record via a Personal Health Record (PHR) of your choice.
What is MiCare?
MiCare is a Department of Defense (DOD)-sponsored web site where beneficiaries i.e. active duty, their dependents, retiree's and reservists, like you, can sign up to have your electronic health records delivered to a Personal Health Record (PHR) of your choice. Initially, you will be able to choose Microsoft's HealthVault™
or Google's Google Health PHR to house your medical information; as the project takes off, the list of available PHRs will grow. For more information on our current partners, visit the Partners Page.
Once you've selected your PHR and authorized the transfer of your electronic medical records, the data will start to flow. Starting on day one, 24 months of medical history will be uploaded to your PHR. The types of medical information that can be sent to your PHR include: Labs, Radiology Reports, Allergies, Conditions, Procedures, In-patient and Out-patient notes and Medications.
